My friend Marcy Gregoire is a genius….. Out in Turners Falls (or Great Falls), you’ll find Unity Park; a lovely open space for picnicking, dog walking, and biking, complete with an awesome skate ramp for all ages and skills levels, and it’s nestled along Barton’s Cove……Also there, you’ll find a bevy of cool business opening up. A brewery, a taco place (coming very very soon), a yoga place, and……Nova Motorcycles; a super cool custom bike shop that looks like something out of a 1960’s documentary about Route 66, which has been in operation a few years now. Out of the little side window of Nova, Marcy, partner to Nova owner, Sayre Anthony, sells homemade shaved ice and natural sodas. It’s called “Nice. Snack Parlor “. The “window” where you order, feels like it was always intended for handing out cold refreshments to kids, out of breath and over heated from practicing their Hippie Jumps and Ollies. Marcy also invites guest musicians to play outside on weekends, and I have the honor of being the only DJ, so far, to set up and play music to add to the already fun vibe for customers and park goers. …I’m sure there will be other DJs down the line… I also have the pleasure of being able to set up a small table of art work for sale, when I set up music.
